Dr. Luis Matos grew up in Salem, MA; he attended Boston University, where he graduated with a degree in Biology. While attending Boston University, Dr. Matos was also enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, where he served for four years as a combat medical specialist (EMT) for a mechanized infantry unit.

After graduating from Boston University, Dr. Matos was accepted to the U.S. Air Force’s officer training school, which led to his commission as a lieutenant. While in the Air Force, Dr. Matos was stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. During his time in the Air Force, he earned a master’s degree in public administration.

Dr. Matos met his wife, Monica, while they both completed their master’s degree at Valdosta State University. After four years in the Air Force and having obtained the rank of Captain, Dr. Matos separated from the military to attend The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. It was during his time in dental school that Dr. Matos realized his inclination toward working with children, so he decided to pursue a specialty in pediatric dentistry. He went on to complete a pediatric dentistry residency at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Training at Miami Children’s Hospital included; treating medically compromised and special needs children, acting as the dental advisor for their craniofacial clinic, and providing treatment to a vast array of children from multiple cultures and with a broad spectrum of diseases and conditions. Dr. Matos’ training prepared him well for the demanding work of private practice.

After residency Dr. Matos went on to work at Main Street Children’s Dentistry of Jupiter, as well as Pediatric Dental Centers of Broward. Four years after having graduated from dental school, Dr. Matos decided to branch out and begin his own practice; choosing the beautiful town of Stuart as his location.

Dr. Matos is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, and Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

In his spare time Dr. Matos enjoys spending time with his wife, Monica and their two boys.
